Post 19: 080506 Poem

Nail

Rusted
Busted
Blind
And abused.
Chewed
And askew
Stepped on
And walked through.
No longer
Stronger
Than hammer
And tong.
Deaf
And bereft
Stretched thin
And left long.
Pail
And frail
And seemingly lost
Until a stranger
With waivers
Redeems it
At cost.

But without a nail
a building is lost
without a building
a family is lost
without a family
we are lost.
So nails must
always be on hand.
